So this year I made my kids their Christmas stockings as we could not find my sons usual stocking in the Christmas box and thought I might as well make my daughter a new one if my son get a new one made. We popped to the fabric store (which is really becoming a great place to go for my crafting bits and bobs) and let the kids pick the fabric they wanted we went for silky and a little stretchy as well as a bit of fluffiness for the trim.
Didn’t take long to create them and they look pretty good if I do say so myself!
All I did was draw around my daughter original stocking on a piece of cardboard and then cut round it i then placed the material over the cut out and roughly drew over the inside of the material and then sewed following the lines. then cut the fluffy material and rapped round the top and sewed that round too. (If that makes sense)
I did this with both stockings and then turned the outside back to be the inside (turned inside out) to make the sewed thread look neater and the right colour and feel of material on the outside like I and wanted. (I hope this makes sense ha)
And here they are.
The kids load them and they did the job they were made for.
What do you all think? Have you ever made a stocking before? How creative did you go? How was the end result? If you haven’t, do you think you would give it a try?
Thanks for reading. 🙂
